There are four issues I'd like to address with this Special Notice:
(1) When building a CITY list
(2) Other CITY Team's Mod Training
(3) My Being On Other CITYmod Lists
(4) My Role On Your Lists
(1) When building a CITY list:
Lisa and DebbieB are our first example of how a list and a team
spontaneously manifests. Got an idea for a list, someone else loves
the idea, both get together to build the list.
Now's the time to move the planning into another meeting room, e.g.,
barn raising temporary list. Scheduling times for sharing
information needs it's own virtual space. It's freer that way. That
planning list can be deleted after its purpose has been served, or
it can be turned into a future Mod list as volunteers join the
Holistic list. My suggestion is for the two of them to create
a "raising the barn" list, to make plans, store training logs, it's
that list's Mission Central.
When CLs feel that they need to focus on their list, I'm going to
suggest they go on Special Notice or Digest here. I am delighted to
see experienced CLs already on Digest or Special Notice.
(2) Other CITY Team's Mod Training:
When you and your list team meet for training, and you have a mod
list for all y'all to communicate with each other, there is no need
to communicate with each other through the CL list. Your training
logs belong on your Mod list.
There no need for the other CLs to be in on your training sessions,
they need to practice autonomy themselves. Your mod team needs
privacy.
There's examples of training sessions in the archives here to show
how it's done. Just go over ever setting you have behind the scenes,
goof around with all of them. Got a question as to how a particular
setting works, hollar out to this list. Otherwise, explore,
experiment, discover.
(3) My Being On Other CITYmod Lists:
Believe me there's more room for brain storming and wild eyed glee
when you have a private space to plan. That's why I prefer not to be
on other CITY mod's lists. I humbly accept the honorary membership,
but I refrain from reading those lists.
Let me explain something here: Enryo Suru, to give people space out
of love and deference. ClayMates you've heard this story, when my
Uncle comes from Japan, we don't mob him with our kids and all. We
give him and our mother time to unwind, catch up on family stuff,
relax. When they've done all that they contact us and say, "Time to
come pay respects." and we do, but we still don't mob him. We let
him approach each of us in turn to share a bit of private time. He
is an emissary of the clan. We love him but we "enryo shimasu" him
because of that love.
I enryo shimasu with the other CITY mod lists. I'm looking the other
way, for I know what it feels like to be treated otherwise. It is a
matter of trust as well. My looking the other way is to say I trust
you and your team.
(4) My Role On Your Lists:
I'd prefer to be moderator only as long as it takes to get the promo
code, help the new list leaders find their way around things like
changing the look of the home page. I'm like training wheels on a
bicycle, in that regard. So if you feel you can remove the training
wheels of your list's bicycle, drop me down to member status. I'll
be happy on that day.
My aim is to have you be independent and autonomous. I will share my
training sessions here on CL, not on Special Notice, but for review
for CLs in training.
The plan is to *not* need me as back up if you got a team together.
Your team is your back up in exploration. The CL list is your safety
net to hollar for help should you need it. Go on Special Notice or
Digest on this list while you're all raising the barn. It helps with
focus.
I don't need to micro manage. It is not my way even with my own
children. I aim to nurture independent, happy, loved individuals who
can go forth and continue to be independent, happy and to love
others. That's the plan, for the line dance steps to be shared so
y'all can keep on dancing even if I take a break.
Like for the tours.
So that's my Monday Morning Special Notice that covers the issues
that came to mind over the week end. Feed back appreciated but not
required.
xoxo
